 Breath of Heaven

Vince Gill 1998

Vince Gill & Patrick Williams

Breath of Heaven (Mary's Song)

I have traveled many moonless nights
Cold and weary, with a babe inside
And I wonder what I've done
Holy Father you have come
And chosen me now to carry your son

I am waiting, in a silent prayer
I am frightened, by the load I bear
In a world as cold as stone
Must I walk this path alone
Be with me now,Be with me now

Breath of Heaven hold me together
Be forever near me,Breath of heaven
Breath of Heaven, lighten my darkness
Pour over me Your holiness, for You are holy
Breath of Heaven

Do you wonder as you watch my face
If a wiser one should have had my place
But I offer all I am for the mercy of Your plan
Help me be strong Help me be,Help me

Breath of Heaven hold me together
Be forever near me,Breath of heaven
Breath of heaven, lighten my darkness
Pour over me Your holiness for You are holy

Breath of Heaven hold me together
Be forever near me, Breath of Heaven
Breath of Heaven,Lighten my darkness
Pour over me Your Holiness, for You are holy

Breath of Heaven
Breath of Heaven
Breath of Heaven

Vince has just about the sweetest tenor voice there is.
This is one of my favorite Christmas songs. The C.D. it is on is titled "Breath of Heaven" If you haven't heard it your missing some beautiful music. His awesome talent shines in this song. As well as in "A Cradle In Bethlehem". Beautiful.

 June Bug

My best friend called me tonight and said "Pie where is that place you blog? I want to check it out and read your blog" Actually she called me Suze. No my name isn't Susan, my middle name is Sue. So while everyone else calls me Pie she's always called me Suze.

Maybe some people would be uncomfortable having their good friends read their blogs but this is someone who knows every single thing about me anyway so I don't mind at all. We met when we were 12 yrs.old and have been best friends ever since. I once read a line that said "You'll always be my best friend,You know to much about me" That says alot.

We've been through alot together. We raised Alot of hell when we were younger. I always say she was the instigator, she'll deny that though! But she is the kind of friend that you can go 2 weeks with out talking to and pick up the conversation right from where you left off.

She's helped me get through the loss of my parents, marriage problems, miscarriages, depression, panic attacks, pretty much anything I've gone through she was there by my side.

She can make me laugh more than anyone else I know. She knows what to say when I've got the blues to help me smile again. When we go out she's the person everyone wants to hang around with because she's so damn much fun.

She's just a true friend and I hope you'll stop by her blog "Life in my Forties" and say welcome to her. Love,Pie

 Grandpa's Windmill

The old windmill in the bottom field has never turned a day
Since that cold November morning when Grandpa passed away

It stopped in silent protest when we lost that dear man
No wind would ever turn again the blades on it's big fan

Daddy tried to fix it late summer of last year
He thought that all it needed was a brand new set of gears

But even once installed those gears weren't the remedy
And still it sits in silence in that little grove of trees

Grandpa put that windmill up back in 1951
I guess since Grandpa died it feels it's job is done

But I don't mind it's stillness in the quiet of the night
Because thats when I hear Grandpa whisper everythings all right

So it stands there being silent and with rusting time decays
No it's never turned again since Grandpa passed away.

My pick for a blog re-run

If you all have been reading Ice's blog you know that he has made the suggestion to go back and read our fellow bloggers earlier entries and re-post them. Many of them, Ice said deserve a second look. Smart man our Friend Ice.
Colo had a whole slew of wonderful posts she took the time to find, read and enjoy. I Have read a few she recommended but have many more to go. But this is my pick. Re-written with permission from it's author. I asked Diesel if he would mind because it's a very personal and painful post. Ironically his good friend Ice was the only one to leave a comment when D. first posted it.

The two words we don't say here at home
Hate and Kill, really no sense at all
For I have seen hate, and I have seen kill
Neither one really truly foots the bill
I know the pure terror that they instill
And some don't stop till they get their fill
The sins of the father passed to the son
But to truly stop it I must be the one
For you see here the story lives in me
A cursed instrument,it really could be
My Dad made a trip came home with a gun
That had killed his uncle, and that made one
Did I mention by his own hand that was done
Then later if you have studied thus far
That very same evil piece raised the bar
It had to pick up number two and go again
Why not,it was surely primed, cause I saw my friend
The very bottom of it from the business end
It was grace,or love,or what exactly did
Keep it from going three on a match
Not knowing is bizarre
And I think of those two
And ask myself how very close it was
As in natural terms
Three always follows two.

Maybe, just maybe I get a little better peak into Diesel.
If you read his early work you will see where this piece comes from.
My thanks to you Diesel. For your great writing and the permission to re-post it.

An electric razor for her father.

A new dog bed for puppy Pete.
Leather slippers for hubby's feet.
