Happy Monday. Rog had to go and work on his Mom's car this evening. I almost wish he wouldn't have got it running again. At 85 she isn't the driver she once was and she scares me. She only drives to town and back now days which is a good thing although it still worries me. Miranda called this evening wanting to borrow a pair of my strappy sandals. She and Chris are leaving next Monday for a week in the Dominican Republic. Lucky kids. She is having jaw surgery on March 1st. She will have to have her jaws wired shut for several weeks. I am worried about this too. What it she has to get sick? I am going to try to talk to her Doctor before her surgery and get all my questions answered. She is such a small woman now, she is going to be tiny after not being able to eat anything but liquids for 6+ weeks. You never stop worrying about your kids no matter how old they get do you? We had a great time Saturday night. Dinner was very good. The show was so much fun. A lot of laughs. We had great seats, third row center. Great for seeing the stage but far enough back not to get "picked on" by the cast. I guess I'd better go take my shower and get ready for work. We've been so busy at work it would be nice to have a quiet night for a change but I don't see that happening for a while. Oh well it makes the night go faster when your busy. Hugs.

What a great morning it has been. Aside from gray skies and the rain that has come down non-stop since the wee hours of the morning. Class this morning with the beloved Sister Jane and the gang was very enlightening. We had a good discussion about what it means to be a prophet in todays world. We discussed how you aren't always called to lead others to God with words but sometimes by example. It helped me immensely with a problem I've been struggling with. Sister always helps me to put things into perspective.
After class I met all my brothers and sisters and most of the in-laws along with Rog and Miranda for brunch at a little family restaurant. It was so nice to get together and visit with them all. After lunch my sisters and I got to visit even more at my nephews beautiful log home where my oldest sister was babysitting her grandchildren. I've sure felt blessed today.
This evening Rog and I are meeting one of my best friends and her boyfriend and are going to see the Second City Comedy Tour ( they got us tickets for Christmas ) And we are taking them out to dinner. I'm looking forward to it. It should be a lot of fun. I hope each of you are having a wonderful day as well.

Sister Jane is a rebel in birkenstocks and blue jeans. When Sister Jane first told me that she was a rebel I had to laugh, inside where she couldn't see. I thought 'Oh Sister your a nun how much of a insurrectionist can you be? 'I wore blue jeans to school and chased the boys' she said. Now Sister has been a nun for over fifty years so I guess her wearing blue jeans may have been a rebellious act back then. I'm sure she raised a few eyebrows at the very least. After class I went home and thought more about what she had said. I think Sister Jane maybe a rebel after all. Now she follows the teachings of the church and only encourages us to do the same. But She says she believes it is only a matter of time until women will be let into the priesthood. Not in her lifetime though she says. I get the feeling that she would like to see it. She is a champion for social action. She doesn't just talk the talk, she walks the walk. She speaks and writes excellent Spanish and helps out with the growing number of Hispanics in our parish in so many ways. She is the welcome wagon to them She helps them get their children registered for school. She helps them find housing and to furnish the houses they find. She shows them around town. Where the library and the grocery stores are. She reads voraciously. All kinds of books and papers. She loves Native American songs and poems. She loves to travel and still drives her little hybrid car to distant states. She's smart, Sister is. I can hardly believe she is going to turn seventy. You'd never know it to look at her. She has more energy than most people twenty years her junior. Me included. She is a whiz when it comes to using a computer. She keeps up with the times. She loves a challenge. Sister told me that for a time she served in a church in Chicago .She said she stopped praying while she was there and it took her a long time to start talking to God again. She was several years younger back then. She worked in a tough part of the city teaching at the school. Every morning she went for a run. On one of those mornings as she ran through the city she was attacked by a man with a screwdriver. She fought. Hard. She fought him off. She ended up with a broken wrist and a punctured hand and lots of cuts and bruises. She said she never felt them at all. After that day she had a hard time praying. She said she still believed in God and loved Him. She just couldn't pray. She moved to another town, another state a few months her attack. Back to her cloister and the comfort of her Sisters. Where she started to pray again, after a while. She's tough, Sister Jane. Sister Jane still wears her blue jeans. Even to mass. She is still raising eyebrows.

# 1) While playing a raucous game of volleyball at a family gathering about five years ago, I managed to break my own nose. I hit the ball up, gravity brought it right back down on the ol' beak and broke it. I took a lot of flack over that for a long time.......
#2) I have always wanted to play the violin. I think it's a beautiful instrument. I would love to have one to look at even if I couldn't play it.
#3) I have brown eyes but have always longed to have green. Deep grass green. I once saw a woman with those eyes, so green. I think they were contacts but it didn't matter they were stunning.
#4) I am an awesome go cart driver. Fearless. They say everyone is good at something and so far that's all I've found that I'm really good at.
#5) I can not sleep in the nude. I've tried and always end up getting out of bed and putting on my jammies. Also I go sleep in socks but never wake up in them. Weird.

Who is this strange woman who is stalking me? I look in the mirror but it's her that I see.
I turn and ask Rog do you see her too? He looks in the mirror and says silly pie all I see is you.
Oh she is sly I'll give her that. But I would like my reflection back.
It is not me I start to howl. Why look at her, that woman has jowls!
She's got my eye's that much is so. But I'm not that wrinkled, that much I know.
I have small bags under my eyes. This woman has luggage in the extra large size!
She's got crows feet in a mans size eleven. My crows feet are small, a petite size seven.
On her neck it looks like what must be a wattle. And that color of hair had to come from a bottle.
I've never before met a woman so mean. She haunts my mirror as if it's a dream.
Her presence is filling me with despair. Where ever I go she's always there.
I yelled at her to get out of my home. To just go away and leave me alone.
But I checked the mirror and she didn't hear. She was looking back at me and I swear she sneered.
I think I'll pretend that she's not there. I'll just ignore her old cold stare.
I'm tired of this woman, to tired to fight. I'll only look in the mirror when I turn off the light.
