I caught a cold with my head It leaves me feeling sick in bed.
I've been hacking, coughing, sniffling, sneezing I start out to hot and end up freezing.
Tonights the big party,I'd like to go but still The only shot I'll need is a double Nyquil.
I suppose the party I'd better pass That Nyquil knocks me on my ass.
I hope all of you are feeling alright I'll think of you if I last to midnight.
Happy New Year!! AACHOO! Going back to bed. I'd send a hug but I don't want to make you sick.

But all the towns and people seem To fade into a bad dream. And the steel rails still ain't heard the news. The conductor sings his songs again, The passengers will please refrain. This trains got the disappearin' railroad blues.

My Buddy D. says he has to leave. You all know I'm the big crybaby around here but this time I know tears won't stop him ( I shed a couple anyway, yeah I'm a crybaby so what ) and that he is doing what he feels he must. I am just so damn glad I had the chance to know you D. You've been such a dear friend to me and I will keep your friendship forever in my heart. How is it I wonder that you can feel so close to someone you've never had the chance to meet? I think it's because you shared the deepest part of yourself with us Diesel. You weren't afraid to show your love or to speak it either. That's rare. You made it easy to like you by being your true self. Your writing is so special and I expect to see your name on an album cover someday under lyrics by....... If Patty's as smart as she looks and I'm sure she is it won't surprise me a bit to find it on one of hers. Just make sure you include "Diesel" so we know it's you. I won't forget you D. I'll think of you when one of those big engines rumbles by my house. Be well, be happy, you and Pook. Love you. Big Hug.

I spent the better part of yesterday boxing up my Christmas decorations. Seventeen boxes. Seventeen boxes! Am I nuts or what? I decorated every room in my house. Yes bathroom and bedroom included. No more! I will not do it again. Those seventeen boxes don't even include the huge pile of things I decided to not keep and to send to Goodwill.
Next year I will decorate with candles and greenery and a small tree. I mean it. Oh and guess what else I did this year? I had started putting the gifts I had bought into gift bags when Miranda told me Oh Mom those aren't any fun. We need to open wrapped boxes. So you guessed it I took everything out of gift bags, sat on my butt for five hours boxing and wrapping gifts. No more! Next year it's gift bags. Fun or not. I've already warned Miranda.
So now those seventeen boxes are neatly stacked waiting for Rog to carry them up to the attic where as of right now I don't care if I never see them again.
And you know I have no reason to be pissed off about it, I did it to myself. I was the one who thought I had to have my home decorated from top to bottom like something out of Christmas Home Beautiful. No More. I'm telling you. My new motto's will be Less is More, and Live Simply.
O.k. Done whining. Bring on a wonderful day Lord !
